Club
20 originated in England as a beginners pylon class. It is flown
in Calgary using similar rules, modified to account for the different
conditions at our altitude of some 3500ft above sea level. For

Club 20 models are hand launched and are of approximately 44"
wing span. They are powered by a .20 cu in motor, typically of
OPS, Webra or Novarossi manufacture and used with a variety of
tuned pipes. Speeds of around 130mph are typically achieved.
In
Calgary, Club 20 is flown as a club event over the winter months.
Some thirteen races, each of five rounds are flown on selected
Sunday afternoons between September and April. Racing can be cancelled
if the temperature falls below -10C or it's actually snowing.
Races are not often cancelled!
